Industrial pollution and air contamination in New Mexico

People have this vision of natural gas being benign, that the bad guys are just the power plants because the pollution in our area is so obvious. After 10 years of natural gas development here the pollution will be equal to the power plants. It just creeps up on you, it’s not like you flip a switch and there are 10,000 more wells, but slowly 10 more, 20 more, one in your back yard, one down the street from you, then it’s too late. What are the consequences from these compressors running 24 hours a day?

Its like having 19 Buicks drive around your home all day and all night, the noise and the pollution are intolerable. The air quality is going down, and there is nothing in their plans to make it any better. Just one more well, one more power plant, and it’s not the right plan. There are going to be wells here for the rest of my life, making more noise and putting out more chemicals.
